Storey St, Maroubra

Sited on a gently sloping suburban block in the eastern suburbs of Sydney the residence is composed of a series of planes which wrap around the site in order to frame the district views. The planes fold around the building envelope allowing the penetration of northern light while sheltering it from the hash western sun. The courtyard allows light to penetrate deep into the plan and provides a constant connection between the internal and external living spaces. The circulation and stairwell look out onto a secluded courtyard to heighten the experience as people move through the building.
